Dr Khalid started off by explaining what should be inserted in a video to make it interesting and most importantly, the videos are able to successfully deliver messages. Through the lecture, Dr Khalid said that videos should have audio, text, sound, clips, photos and story board. Later on, he showed us two videos, one made by a stranger and the other made up himself. We were instructed to do a discussion among our groups about the advantages and the weaknesses of both videos, then presented our results. I have to say, I really respect Dr Khalid because despite we, the immatures in video making made negative critics on his videos, he still responded professionally and accepted all the comments with an open heart. Most of the comments on Dr Khalid's video was the lack of clips, only photos and song.
Then, he introduced an app to edit and mix songs or music. He briefly explained about it and asked us to try ourselves. Each group had to come up with the edited music. I personally had never tried editing music or songs before. It was whole new experience to me. It took us about 20 minutes to figure out how to operate and edit. To my surprise, it was not that hard. The instructions are simply and the software is easy to use. This is the mashup that our group had come up with.
After the class officially ended, we went to have our lunch and pump sufficient petrol for the car. We also top up touch n go for toll. After settled everything, we started our journey with everyone praying according to our religion at about 2pm. We stopped a few times before arrived at Cititel Express Hotel in Penang at 8pm. Along the road, we witnessed a few car accidents and I was so worried but thankful to have arrived safely.
We were there for 4 days and everything was recorded! It was indeed a fun and beneficial trip. We can't wait to make it into video and show the class the food that we tasted and what we did there.
There is no class this coming Friday! See you in 2 weeks time!
